YOUTH PROGRAMS
The David Phillips Foundation partners with youth sports providers to offer free and low-cost after-school sports & recreation programs in elementary schools and low-income communities, bringing opportunities for play to kids across Austin.
GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Our youth programs are rooted in the belief that play is the work of the child. Play is necessary to a child's growth, learning, and development, in all areas - physical, mental, and social/emotional. Our programs foster children's innate love of, and critical need for, physical movement and play. By removing cost barriers,
we strive to provide fitness & fun for ALL kids!
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
DPF after-school programs run throughout the year, for 10 weeks in the fall and spring semesters.
Groups meet for 1-2 hours on school campuses,
parks, and partner facilities.

Further, DPF offers additional free and low-cost opportunities to play, including one-day clinics,
pop-up camps, and the annualÂ
New Year's Kids' Mile & Relays at Pease Park
to kick off the New Year.
SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
During the summer, DPF works with our partner vendors to provide scholarships for youth in our programs to participate in summer camps, as well as supplemental program activities and
pop-up camps.
Scholarship applications for 2026 Summer Camps are now closed.

BIKE CLUBS
Austin Youth Fitness' focus is to improve biking skills as well as improve endurance and the participant's overall fitness. Bikers will become familiar with bicycle safety, learn the rules of the road, learn to utilize their gears, and will gain strength in their biking ability. In AYF Biking Club kids go on a new adventure each week, and learn different routes through their school neighborhood, with the rides progressing gradually from 2-6 miles over the 5-week session.Â

YOGA CLUBS
Austin Youth Fitness' yoga clubs focus on improving flexibility, mobility, and strength. Flexibility and mobility are essential for growing bodies and are beneficial for other sports and preventing injury. Introducing the practice of yoga at a young age is valuable as it helps children connect with their bodies and how they are feeling.

Team Sports Club is where "Play Leads the Way." Students are introduced to a new sport each week, while growing their skills not only as individuals, but also as a team.
